the clinic and the accident

4:00am
dataran, for fajr.
on my way in saw a man with mp3 player & earphones on. perhaps listening to quran recital. there's an example of how technology employed for good use.
on my left is Yusuf, a Palestinian, now living in Jordan after driven away from his own house together with his father and brother by the israeli army.
on my right is an algerian from algiers. he doesn't speak english, so our acquaintance was just a brief salaam and shaking hands.

9:15pm
to clinic with Naza -
i have sore throat. suara garau. the doc said, it is a symptom of acquired pneumonia. got a course of antibiotic, ubat demam, vit C.
Naza had backache and badan lemah. she got painkillers and doc told her to drink plenty of water.
it is so very convenient for M'sians that TH provides good medical facility (and it's free) such as the clinic. eventho many would complaint that they have to wait a long time, etc., i'd say it is fortunate for us that we do have something being set up for us. and heck, it's free.

the accident -
on the way back, witnessed a man rammed over by a road tanker (carrying water).
the driver honks (a norm here in Makkah) 2-3 pedestrian walking a little bit inside the road, while going at a high speed.
there was no time for the poor guys to react, moving out of the road to the walkpath. one of them was with a wheelchair (i don't know if he's on the wheelchair or pushing an empty one). i saw his thighs being rammed over by the tanker.the driver still tried to get away altho the tanker tyre is wedged by police.
it was a shivering experience to witness the recklesness here in a Haraam land. it's as though there's no respect to other Muslim brothers, and to the sacred land itself.
i went rushing back to the clinic to get help from the medical personnels. the docs gave me a hesitant reply. later i know that they forcibly can't do anything about it for certain reasons.
a man from kota bharu that i had a chat with while waiting for my turn at the clinic earlier commented: 'you have to throw humanity out of the window'. with the circumstances, however, i understand the situation.
and so, i and Naza walked past by the scene to our hotel. and we were very, very, careful when we crossed the very street. crossingphobia (?) hit me.
